Banasknatha has become one of the leading district in potato production. Banasknatha produces around 17.10 lakh MT of potatoes. Farmers have adapted drip irrigation system which helped to increase productivity per hectare. Banaskantha contributes around 52% of the state potato production.
The state has also emerged as one of the major destination for potato processing industries in india due to raw materials and area being suitable for producing processing quality potatoes.
